Processing payments is crucial to any business. CustomerBase allows you to connect
to major payment gateways so your payments can be processed easily.

To start, go to 'Payments' under 'Accounts & Billing' on the left-side 'Settings' menu.
Here you can connect with the Stripe payment gateway (recommended), or make integrations with PayPal, Braintree, or Authorize.Net.

To connect with Stripe click on the 'Connect with Stripe' button. In a newly opened window fill out your company information and follow the instructions to set up an account with Stripe:

Once your account is set, it will be displayed on the 'Payments' page as 'Connected'. Besides, you will have access to a number of services like Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay, that allow your customers to make payments in parts when they pay via Stripe.
To activate the services toggle the corresponding switch.

CustomerBase generates your statement description (information displayed on bank statements). However, you can change the description by pressing the edit button.

Moreover, clicking on the 'Stripe Dashboard' button allows you to manage the payments directly from the Stripe dashboard:

To connect to PayPal and other gateways, click on the corresponding 'Connect' button,
and enter API credentials. Then, click 'Connect':

If you have several gateways connected, you can set a default gateway by selecting the right option on the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Click 'Update':

To disconnect gateways, click on the 'Disconnect' button in the corresponding field:

Finally, if you want your employees to be tipped for provided services, you can enable
the tipping options. They will be displayed to your customers before the payment checkout.

To enable the tipping options, go to the 'Checkout' tab and toggle the 'Enable' switch.
Click 'Save':
